Beverly Hills is a village located in Southfield Township in Oakland County. A suburb of Detroit, the community is recognized as being the most populous village in the entire State of Michigan. Beverly Hills was established in 1958 and originally called Westwood - which indicated that it was located west of Woodward Avenue. The village was then renamed Beverly Hills the following year.

Beverly Hills take great pride in the programs and events offered to the residents and visitors alike. The village aims to provide quality entertainment and recreational activities that are fun for people of any age. For this reason, Beverly Hills offers a number of community events for the public to enjoy. Some of the most popular events in the area include: Winter Family Fun Day, Memorial Day Parade & Carnival / Fun Run and Walk, Halloween Hoot, and numerous other activities.

The estimated population of Beverly Hills is approximately 10,555 people. The village consists of 4.02 square miles of total area, of which .02 square miles is water - giving the village a population density of about 2,638.8 inhabitants per square mile. The estimated median household income in the area is $109,466, while the estimated per capita income is $53,171. In addition to the community programs and events offered, Beverly Hills Parks and Recreation Department also manages a number of community parks and recreational areas within the village. Riverside Park is a rather small public park located at Riverside Drive, and includes a picnic area and grill, as well as access to Mill Pond - where visitors can fish. Two separate and beautiful nature preserves are located within Beverly Hills. Douglas Evans Nature Preserve is an eighteen acre area that is located on Evergreen Road, north of 13 Mile Road. Visitors are able to walk the area and/or observe it for nature study. However, because its deed restricts the area to remaining in its natural state, public access is limited. Hidden Rivers Nature Preserve is situated on the south side of 14 Mile Road, east of Evergreen Road. This fifteen acre area is also restricted on deed to remain in its natural state, meaning that the public can only visually enjoy the area's wonders. Beverly Park, however, is not restricted on deed - which means that it is completely open to public access. This thirty-four acre park provides a variety of recreational activities to the members of the community. Many of the village's community events are held at Beverly Park, as well as a number of meetings/gatherings/celebrations within the park's rental pavilion. In addition to hosting community events, Beverly Park offers countless other activities including: Basketball courts, baseball fields, tennis courts, a disc golf course, volleyball courts, a large playground, sled hill and ice skating rink (during winter months), and a nature area complete with trails for walking/biking. Also highly popular, especially among youngsters in the community, is the Little Free Library (LFL) found at Beverly Park. The LFL is a box full of books that runs on the honor system. Books are left in the box and residents are free to select whichever book catches their eye - and then simply return the book when done or replace it with another. This small community gesture is just one of the reasons that Beverly Hills is the great place that it is.

The Village of Beverly Hills is served by the Birmingham Public School District. Serving approximately 8,150 students throughout its thirteen schools, the Birmingham Pubic School District serves portions of at least nine other communities. Additional schools are offered throughout this school district - many of which have received awards for being recognized as a School of Character.
