Around 200 years have already been passed after the cornerstone of Plymouth laid way back in 1836. Today, it is the home of 500+ people who live happily and peacefully there. It was 593 in 1880 which increased 10 percent in the next census. 1920 census recorded the highest population growth when it reached 900. However, the following decade saw a steep drop of 17% and the population reduced to 745 in 1930 (it means drop 17% again). The biggest drop was recorded in 1990 when the population was reduced to 521 from 649 which mean around 20 percent reduction was there.

Let’s look at the demographics and population distribution. The village of Plymouth has population distribution similar to other places in the Michigan State. The published data of 2000 Census reveals that amongst 562 people who reside in the 234 households in the village are majority White.

Out of 146 families who make this village lively and charming, around 95 percent people are White. The remaining percentage is shared by .18% Native American, 0.18% African-American, and 1.25% Asian. Half a percent is contributed by other races. The ratio is same as other places. The Hispanic or Latino races are around .89% of the total population.

As far as age wise breakup is concerned, again Plymouth is not very different from others. Let’s look at the bifurcation of 234 households. Statistical analysis done by Census Department reflects that the average family size is 3 and the average household size is 2.4.

In 31 percent houses, people have kids below 18 years who live with the parents. Around 51 percent are married couples, and 9 percent are female householders who are single. 37 percent houses are of non-family people.
